THIS IS NOT OKAY
But it can get better.
Tech in Portland operates in the whitest city in America. We work, network and recruit among people who look, talk, act and sound demographically alike. We exclude women, people of color and the LGBTQ community.
As members of an industry committed to so-called disruption, are we okay with this?
So eROI signed the Portland Tech Diversity Pledge, joining local tech companies committed to—with five specific steps—solving our industry’s endemic lack of diversity.
This data reflects eROI’s May 2016 demographics.
With it, we acknowledge who we are and how far we need to go.
eROI’s gender identity tends slightly female.
Responses include “all that apply.” All responders had the option “I prefer not to respond.”
eROI is pretty young. Over two-thirds of us are between 18-34 years old.
All responders had the option “I prefer not to respond.”
eROI is crazy white.
Because responses include “all that apply,” our percentage is greater than 100. All responders had the option “I prefer not to respond.”
As we diversify, we’ll update our demographic data. Stay tuned.
